My Mission Path Logo

The Logo: The Completed Hive

The logo is called "The Completed Hive." It tells the story of your preparation—and the name is the destination, not where you start. The hive becomes complete as you do the work.

The Hexagon: Community

The hexagon is inspired by Deseret — the honeybee. In the Book of Mormon, the Jaredites carried honey bees (deseret) with them to the promised land (Ether 2:3). For Latter-day Saints, the beehive has always symbolized industry, cooperation, and collective effort. The hexagon represents the hive — the community you're joining and the important work you're committing to.

The Gap: You're Not Finished Yet

Look closely and you'll see the hexagon isn't fully closed. There's a deliberate gap—a single break in the structure. That gap represents your preparation—it's not finished yet. You're in the process of growing, learning, and becoming ready. The hive becomes complete as you put in the work. It represents humble, ongoing effort—the very heart of missionary preparation.

The Spark: Modern Tools to Help You

The gold spark inside represents the tools and guidance built into My Mission Path—lessons, practice exercises, language tools, and AI coaching. But it's just a spark—it doesn't replace your effort, your faith, or the Spirit. It's there to help you fill the gap and become who the Savior is preparing you to be.

The Real Purpose

Missionary preparation isn't just about checking boxes or collecting skills. It's about deepening your relationship with the Savior Jesus Christ.

Through structured study of His gospel, practicing how to share it with others, and building daily spiritual habits, you become not just a better missionary—you become a better disciple. You learn to hear the Spirit, trust the Lord, and love as He loves.

"And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!" — Doctrine and Covenants 18:15

My Mission Path exists to support that journey. It's not meant to replace personal revelation, your Church leaders' counsel, or the Spirit's guidance. But it can help you prepare consistently, thoughtfully, and with purpose—so that when you leave for your mission, you'll be ready not just to serve, but to let the Savior transform you.

Common Questions

How long is a mission?

Young men typically serve for 24 months, and young women typically serve for 18 months. Senior missionary couples can choose to serve for 6, 12, 18, or 23 months.

What age can I serve?

Young men (18–25) and young women (18–29) may serve as full-time teaching missionaries. Married couples and single members 40 and older may serve as senior missionaries.

Where might I be assigned?

Missionaries serve throughout the world. Your assignment is made by a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles through revelation, considering your circumstances and the needs of the work.

What will I do as a missionary?

Missionaries invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel. Daily activities include personal and paired scripture study, finding and teaching people, and providing service.

How do I pay for a mission?

Missionaries and their families contribute a set monthly amount. If families cannot contribute the full amount, wards can help, and the Church's General Missionary Fund provides assistance when needed.
