1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account and using My Mission Path, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not create an account or use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use My Mission Path. If you are between 16 and 17 years old, you represent that you have received permission from a parent or legal guardian before creating an account.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If we become aware that a user is under 16, we will delete their account and associated data.

3. Description of Service

My Mission Path is a free, independent resource designed to help you prepare for full-time missionary service. The app provides:

  • A 52-week structured preparation program
  • Task tracking and progress monitoring
  • Journal features for recording your preparation journey
  • Optional AI-powered practice tools (language, teaching, mission readiness coaching)
  • Resource materials and guidance
  • Optional financial tracker for personal reference

Financial Tracker Disclaimer: The financial tracker feature is provided for personal reference and planning purposes only. It is not financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, or professional financial guidance. Users are solely responsible for their financial decisions and should consult with qualified financial professionals for important financial matters.

My Mission Path is not an official resource of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Church.

4. Account Responsibilities

When you create an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • Not share your account with others or create multiple accounts
  • Maintain one account per person
  • Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access

5. AI Features Disclaimer

My Mission Path includes optional AI-powered practice tools powered by Google Gemini. These tools are designed to help you practice language skills, teaching scenarios, and wellness reflection. Please read this section carefully.

AI is a practice tool, not authoritative guidance.The AI features are for practice and skill development only. They are NOT an authoritative source of religious doctrine, scripture interpretation, or spiritual guidance.

AI responses may be inaccurate or incomplete.Language models can make mistakes, provide incorrect information, misinterpret scripture, or give responses that are incomplete or inappropriate. Never rely solely on AI output for important decisions.

We are not responsible for AI-generated content.My Mission Path accepts no responsibility for any decisions you make, actions you take, or consequences that result from relying on AI-generated responses.

AI does not replace professional guidance.The AI features do not replace counsel from Church leaders, parents, guardians, teachers, or professional advisors. Always consult qualified individuals for important matters.

Mission readiness AI is not mental health support.The mission readiness feature is not professional mental health support. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please call 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or visit your nearest emergency room.

AI personas (Jonas and Haven).Jonas and Haven are UX personas powered by Google Gemini. They are not real people and do not represent actual entities or organizations.

AI conversations are not saved.Conversations with AI tools are not stored on our servers between sessions. Each conversation starts fresh. However, your inputs and the AI's responses are transmitted to Google's servers in real time. Please review our Privacy Policy and Google's privacy policies to understand how your data is handled.

By using AI features, you acknowledge these limitations and accept full responsibility for your use of the tools.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use My Mission Path for any illegal or harmful purpose
  • Attempt to bypass, hack, or jailbreak AI safety features
  • Use the service for commercial purposes without permission
  • Share, publish, or redistribute others' personal information
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts or systems
  • Use the service in ways that violate these terms or applicable laws
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users or our team

Rate Limiting: My Mission Path may rate-limit API usage to maintain service stability and quality for all users. Excessive requests may result in temporary access restrictions.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of My Mission Path (including design, text, graphics, and code) are owned by My Mission Path or our content providers and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Your content: You retain ownership of journal entries and other personal content you create. By using My Mission Path, you grant us a license to store, process, and display your content to provide the service.

8. Limitation of Liability

My Mission Path is provided free of charge. To the fullest extent permitted by law, My Mission Path is not liable for:

  • Any inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate AI-generated responses
  • Lost, deleted, or corrupted data
  • Service interruptions or unavailability
  • Any reliance on any content within the service
  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Maximum liability: Because My Mission Path is provided free, your maximum recovery for any claim is $0.00.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

My Mission Path is provided "as-is" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We specifically disclaim:

  • Any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • Any warranty that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Any warranty of accuracy or completeness of content
  • Any warranty that AI features will function correctly or reliably

Use of this service is at your own risk.

10. Privacy

Your use of My Mission Path is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand our practices regarding data collection, use, and protection.

11. Third-Party Services

My Mission Path uses third-party services to operate:

  • Google Gemini: Powers AI features for language practice, teaching practice, and mission readiness coaching
  • Supabase (PostgreSQL): Hosts our database
  • Vercel: Hosts the application

These providers have their own terms of service and privacy policies. By using My Mission Path, you agree that your data will be processed by these services according to their terms. Please review their privacy policies at:

12. Not Affiliated with the Church

My Mission Path is an independent resource and is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or any of its entities.

While our content is based on publicly available Church materials (Preach My Gospel, General Handbook, etc.), this app is created and maintained independently. Always refer to official Church resources on ChurchofJesusChrist.org for authoritative information.

For missionary service questions, please consult your bishop, stake president, or official Church resources.

13. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by:

  • Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
  • Sending you an email notification to the address associated with your account
  • Displaying a notice in the application when you log in

Your continued use of My Mission Path after the updated terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not accept the changes, you should stop using the service and delete your account.

14. Termination

We may terminate: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, use the service in harmful ways, or engage in activity we determine to be inappropriate.

You may terminate: You can delete your account at any time from your Settings. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed from our active systems according to our Privacy Policy.

Data Export: Before deleting your account, you may export your journal entries as a PDF from the Journal page. We are working on expanding data export capabilities. If you need a full copy of your data, contact us at mymissionpath@gmail.com.

Survival: The following provisions survive termination: Intellectual Property, Limitation of Liability, Disclaimer of Warranties, Indemnification, Governing Law, Dispute Resolution, and Entire Agreement.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless My Mission Path, its creators, affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the service; (b) your violation of these Terms of Service; (c) your violation of applicable laws or regulations; or (d) any action or inaction based on information or content provided by the service, including AI-generated content.

16. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

Binding Arbitration: Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms of Service or your use of My Mission Path shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court.

No Class Action: You agree that any arbitration or court proceeding shall be conducted on an individual basis and not as a class action, class arbitration, or any other representative action. You waive your right to participate in class arbitrations or class actions.

Governing Law: These Terms of Service and any disputes shall be governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

17. Force Majeure

My Mission Path shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance under these Terms of Service if such failure or delay results from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, pandemics, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, accidents, strikes, or shortages of transportation, facilities, fuel, energy, labor, or materials. In such cases, My Mission Path will make reasonable efforts to resume performance as soon as practicable.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies we may publish, constitute the entire agreement between you and My Mission Path concerning the service and supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings. If you have accepted any previous version of these Terms of Service, that agreement is now terminated and replaced by this current version. No employee, agent, or representative of My Mission Path has the authority to make any modification, amendment, or addition to these terms except in a written document signed by an authorized officer of My Mission Path.

19. Severability

If any provision of these Terms of Service is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, or if that is not possible, the provision will be severed. The remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
